      Intro to Dairy Goats- Mt. Moriah Farms

      Learn how to raise, feed, and milk your dairy goats with Mia.  She will talk nutrition, health and the tools needed to milk and store it.

      Intro To Bees- Randall Jarnigan

      This class will help you decide if Bees are a good fit for your homestead.  Learn about basic beekeeping, tools needed, threats to bees, and bee health.  Stay after class for a Q & A session for ,more personalized answers to your questions.

      Foraging- Billy Baily

      Walk around and find wild edibles with Billy.  Billy  will have some plants with him to help you better identify other plants that may not be on site that you can forage for on your own.

      Pork Processing- Perry Hill Farms

      This class is one of those true traditional skills from our ancestors.  Perry Hill will discuss the proper tools and equipment need to break down a half of a hog into primal cuts.  They will show you basic trimming techniques and how to identify key sections of the meat like the loin, leaf fat, Bostin butt and pork chops.

      Chicken Processing- Perry Hill Farms

      Perry Hill will demonstrate how to process a chicken from the dispatch to putting it on your plate.  Learn dispatch techniques, scalding temperatures, equipment needed and how to safely break down a whole bird and properly store it.

      Rabbit Processing- Perry Hill Farms

      Live in-person rabbit butchering.  This class is not for the squeamish!!!

      Learn the traditional skill of humanely processing and butchering a rabbit.

      We will talk about proper tools and equipment to use, skinning techniques, how to break down the rabbit for cooking.

      Fermenting- Morris Patch of Heaven

       Learn the time-honored art of fermentation and discover how simple ingredients can be transformed into rich probiotic foods for your home.


      You'll learn the foundations of safe, successful fermentation using traditional methods.  We'll break down the science in a simple, approachable way so you leave confident and ready to ferment on your own kitchen counter.

      •  the difference between lacto-fermentation and vinegar-based pickling

      Hands on grafting class. Randall will show you how to graft a tree and help you graft one of your own trees to take home as well.  Randall will discuss the tools needed and the different types of grafting and propagation methods there are. 

      Blacksmithing- Buffalo Ridge Forge

      Hands on blacksmithing class, you will forage your own item and take it home in this class.  Travis hopes you will leave with the confidence to forage something again.

      In this class the kids will learn how to make their own traps for catching crabs and crawfish and be able to put food on the table for their family.

      Water Filtration - Jeff Whitfield

       

      Clean water is one of our most important survival needs. In this hands-on class, kids will learn how to turn dirty water into cleaner water using simple natural filtration methods.

      Through fun demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will build their own basic water filter and discover how materials like sand, charcoal, and gravel help remove dirt and impurities.

      In this class, kids will learn:

      • Why clean water is important for survival
